Walford Timber

We are an independent family owned timber merchant, established in 1945 by Herbert Smith. The company’s main activity then was cutting hardwoods from the Forest of Dean and local private estates, primarily for the mining industry. Still owned and run by the Smith family, we are still based on the same 15 acre site in Herefordshire that Mr. Smith purchased in 1939, although it has changed dramatically through investment over the years.
